About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team within an acute care setting. Our facility serves diverse patient populations and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in patient care. This role is on a Med/Surg unit with 28 beds, where nurses care for general medical patients including those with sepsis, COPD, bowel obstructions, and congestive heart failure (CHF). The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5. Support staff includes one Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for every 10-14 patients, and there are no dedicated tele monitor techs on the unit; monitors are managed from a centralized location. Equipment includes CPAP and established BiPAPs only. Shifts are nights, from 1800-0630, and weekend and holiday requirements apply. Floating within the region may be required based on staffing needs. Professional colors are the dress code, and scrubs are provided. Unit-specific orientation will be provided. The charting system is EPIC. All trauma levels are accepted.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current state licensure
  • AHA BLS certification required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • 2+ years of related work experience preferred
  • prior experience reading and interpreting cardiac telemetry strips preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ability to titrate drips, specifically Insulin and Heparin
  • Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
