About The Position

Firelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Med-Surg unit. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts, alternating every third weekend. The role involves implementing the nursing process, including carrying out physician orders for diet, medication, and treatment. The nurse will perform assessments, monitor patient care, document interventions, and report findings to physicians. Patient and family education regarding treatments and care plans is also a key responsibility. The position requires responding to emergencies, maintaining medication and supply availability, and ensuring the cleanliness of equipment and the environment. The nurse will also act as a service excellence ambassador for Firelands Regional Medical Center (FRMC).

Requirements

Current Ohio RN license
CPR prior to patient care experience
Current ACLS and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills
Computer proficiency

Responsibilities

Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
