About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical/surgical neuro unit. This position involves caring for patients with neurological conditions, including strokes and other acute neurological illnesses, along with general medical concerns. The unit also accommodates patients with behavioral health histories, although prior behavioral health experience is not necessary. The position involves floating to other post-surgical and medical-surgical floors as needed. Requirements

ADN or BSN degree required.
Minimum of 1 year of acute care medical/surgical nursing experience is necessary.
Kansas or multistate nursing license required.
No prior hits allowed.
AHA BLS certification required at the time of submission.
Immunization documentation for Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TDaP, and flu vaccine is required.

Nice To Haves

Prior behavioral health experience is not necessary.
CPI and NIHSS certifications are preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

Deliver effective nursing care to patients on a 31-bed unit focused on acute and subacute neurological conditions.
Monitor patient status and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal treatment plans.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and recovery processes.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the electronic health record system, Epic.
Float to other post-surgical and medical-surgical floors as needed.
