About The Position
We are seeking experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry Float Registered Nurses for a 13-week contract assignment. This role involves floating between multiple units, including medical-surgical floors and an acute inpatient rehab (ortho/neuro). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and leadership in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Minimum 1 successful traveler assignment completed (first-time travelers not considered)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Meditech experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to function well under pressure and in changing environments
- Demonstrated leadership and prioritization skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions
- Float between designated units based on staffing needs
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Administer medications and manage drips, including heparin, magnesium, and potassium riders
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions and act promptly
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold all hospital and nursing standards
