Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Tele Dept Bring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better +Together Work location : Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours : Full Time (7P-7A) Weekend and holiday requirements Department highlights: · Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth · Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team · We are a 38 bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio 1:4-5 depending on call-ins and acuity. Fast paced unit with high acuity patients. Our unit cares for general med/surg with pulmonary, infections, renal, wounds, as well as patients with cardiac drips, chest tubes, and TR bands. Fun and great unit to work on if you are looking to learn, grow your basic nursing skills and work with outstanding colleagues. Energetic unit who likes to celebrate and provide compassionate care to our patients and make them feel like family.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma Or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
Current BLS prior to providing independent patient care required
ACLS within 90 days required
CPI training within 90 days of hire required
One (1) year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

2+ years of strong Med/surg or Tele RN experience in acute care setting including charge/preceptor skills preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
