Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Tele
About The Position
This is a 12-hour day shift position on a 51-bed Acute Med-Surg with Telemetry unit at a 122-bed Level III trauma facility. The unit provides care for adult patients with a wide range of acute medical needs excluding ICU, psych, and Women & Children’s services. The environment is team-oriented, with RNs, LPNs, and LNAs working collaboratively to provide seamless patient care. Orientation includes 1–2 precepted shifts in addition to educator-led onboarding prior to patient contact. Scheduling is completed through an online self-scheduling system, with schedules published in advance. Reliable transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation is not accessible in the area. Free onsite parking is available.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
- At least 1 year in Med-Surg with Telemetry.
- AHA BLS required.
- AHA ACLS required.
- NIHSS prior to start.
- Either 5 years of Med-Surg Tele experience or 3 years of dedicated telemetry experience.
- Prior travel experience required.
- Completed two travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities or previous experience at a UVMHN acute care facility.
- EPIC experience within the past two years required and nonnegotiable.
- Valid license must be on file at time of submission.
- All employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained.
- Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type must be provided at submission.
Nice To Haves
- Telemetry certification is preferred.
