About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position on the Medical-Surgical unit (4 West) working nights (7pm-7am). The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN will utilize communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to create individualized care plans, considering physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. The position also includes supervising and delegating tasks to non-professional personnel to ensure optimal patient care. Competence in addressing age-related needs of specific patient populations is required. The RN works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive services in accordance with Riverside Health System's standards and goals.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state Upon Hire
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire

2 years of experience (for $7,000 bonus eligibility)
High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if Nursing Diploma Graduate (Required)
Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement, Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma) (Required)

Partners with patients and their family to develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
Incorporates evidence based standards of practice and collaborates with interdisciplinary team in care coordination.

Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to ensure patient receives consistent, competent and ethical care.

Modifies education method to ensure patient/family understanding.
Assumes responsibility to coordinate and deliver individualized patient education and discharge specific education to family/caregivers.

Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence to meet the patient's care needs.
