Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg / Hematology
About The Position
Sentara is currently hiring an RN to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital located in Norfolk on the Med Surg/ Hematology Unit. This state-of-the-art 24-bed unit cares for a wide variety of medical diagnoses from CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Stroke, end-of-life to name a few. It specializes in care for those with chronic blood disorders such as Sickle Cell. Nurses on this unit become knowledgeable in procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis. The unit offers self-scheduling and fosters a team-oriented environment where staff members from diverse backgrounds provide culturally competent care and learn from each other.
Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- RN-Diploma, ASN, BSN or MSN from an accredited school

- Less than one year of experience or transitioning to a new practice area.
Responsibilities
