About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Full Time, Night Shift position in Suffolk, VA. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for qualified experienced candidates, and $7,500 for new graduates. The Medical-Surgical Unit is a 21-bed unit that sees a variety of patients, making it a great place to learn and grow. The unit offers a collaborative, supportive environment with unit coordinators on staff to ensure smooth operations and quality patient care. Sentara Obici Hospital is a certified stroke center and a designated Magnet hospital, recognized for excellence in patient care.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • None required experience
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of acute care experience (preferred)
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
  • Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
