About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse Manager in the Emergency Department at UAB St. Vincent's Freestanding in Trussville, AL. The role is full-time, with flexible Monday-Friday day shifts. The manager will oversee emergency services activities, workflow, and nursing resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Responsibilities include assisting with staff hiring, training, development, and evaluation, as well as identifying and resolving issues affecting patient care. The manager will also develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient service delivery and monitor adherence to budgets, including expenditures and purchases.

Requirements

Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Professional licensure/certification and diploma from an accredited school/college of Nursing.
3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

Manage emergency services activities, workflow and nursing resources.
Ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Assist with hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of nursing staff.
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
Monitor and adhere to budget(s).
Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
