About The Position

The Breast Center RN collaborates with staff and physicians to support the Breast Center Program with a focus on patient education, coordination, and referrals, primarily for patients with abnormal mammogram results. This role assists with Mammography and Ultrasound operations and supports technologists, radiologists, and surgeons in patient care. Responsibilities include using the nursing process to plan and implement care, educating patients and the community on breast health, and contributing to program development and performance improvement initiatives. The Registered Nurse prepares and recovers patients undergoing invasive procedures, assists during procedures, and guides patients through next steps following abnormal findings, including coordinating follow-up care and referrals. This role serves as a central point of communication between patients and care teams, ensures timely scheduling of follow-up imaging, demonstrates strong clinical and organizational skills, and assists Triage Nurses as needed. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years relevant patient-care experience required
  • Exhibits growing knowledge of nursing theory and practice
  • Active Kentucky RN license
  • BCLS within 90 days of hire
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire
