Registered Nurse (RN) - Main Operating Room (OR) Weekend Program

University of VirginiaCharlottesville, VA
$42 - $55Onsite

About The Position

UVA Health is seeking experienced OR Registered Nurses to join our Weekend Program within the Main Operating Room. This unique opportunity offers an enhanced compensation package, a predictable weekend-only schedule, and the chance to work alongside nationally recognized surgeons and interdisciplinary teams in a highly specialized surgical environment. The Weekend Program is designed for experienced nurses seeking work-life balance while earning additional compensation. This position is intended for experienced perioperative nurses. Because candidates are expected to have prior OR experience, Periop 101 is not included with this role. Instead, nurses will complete a competency-based orientation developed by the UVA Health Main OR Education Team. Orientation is individualized based on each nurse's previous experience, demonstrated competencies, and assigned specialty. This role is ideal for a capable clinician who is committed to expanding knowledge and refining clinical expertise. The successful candidate consistently provides high-quality, evidence-based care for complex surgical patients while serving as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. Nurses in this role actively seek and incorporate feedback, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and begin developing leadership skills through mentoring and collaboration.
