Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse
About The Position
Saratoga Medical is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide respite care in the Ft. Belvoir area and surrounding communities. The role serves members of the military and their families through the Exceptional Family Member Program. The healthcare provider will work up to 32 hours per month in the family's home, with schedules coordinated between the family and provider. The provider will assist with daily living activities and safety, and deliver care for complex conditions, including seizure activity, tube feedings, tracheotomy suctioning, and monitoring home medical equipment. Applicants must qualify through one of the listed qualification paths and complete the required background and registry checks. A current CPR certificate must include an in-person, hands-on skills assessment; online-only certifications are not accepted.
Requirements
- A current Registered Nurse (RN) license; or a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with at least five years of experience working with individuals with special needs; or an RN credential or bachelor's degree in a related field with at least three years of complex experience with special needs.
- Tier 1 Background Investigation.
- National Sex Offender Registry check.
- State and local child abuse registry checks.
- Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate from a course that includes a hands-on, in-person skills assessment; online-only certifications are not acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting, positioning, and dressing.
- Ensure the safety of the individual receiving care.
- Provide care for complex conditions, including seizure activity and tube feedings.
- Perform tracheotomy suctioning.
- Monitor home medical equipment.
