About The Position

The Registered Nurse Level 2 provides competent direct patient care under the direction of leadership and according to established standards. The role contributes to unit activities and supports improvements to the care delivery system at the unit level. It also supports peers in delivering patient care and may include expanded responsibilities such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member duties.

This position is part of the Primary Care Network team at a family medicine practice providing comprehensive outpatient care to patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors. Care includes preventive health maintenance and management of chronic and acute needs. The RN works with LPNs, Ambulatory Technicians, physicians, and APPs. The position is based at North Ponds Family Medicine in Webster, New York, and is scheduled Monday through Friday, with no holidays.

Requirements

• Pediatric experience is required.
• One to two years of experience in direct nursing care is required.
• Strong assessment and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent direct patient care according to established standards and under the direction of leadership.
• Contribute to unit activities and support enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
• Support peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• May assume expanded responsibilities such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member.
• Perform telephone triage and direct patient care.
• Administer medications and vaccines.
• Perform minor laboratory testing.
• Provide patient teaching and health education.
• Supervise LPNs and Ambulatory Technicians as assigned.
