About The Position

Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for their Level 2 Nursery in the Family Birthplace department. This position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 with no commitment or contract required. The role is part of a Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program designed to support both new graduate nurses and experienced nurses transitioning into this specialty. The program includes formal orientation, evidence-based practice guidelines, hands-on experience with a preceptor, peer networking, and virtual professional development sessions. For new graduates, this is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program. Sentara RMH Medical Center is a Magnet-designated hospital serving a seven-county area and is part of the Sentara Health System.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse License (Required)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care nursing experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a Level 2 Nursery.
• Participate in the Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program.
• Engage in orientation and skill acquisition for nursery practice.
• Follow Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines.
• Gain hands-on experience in the Women's Health (WH) specialty.
• Share experiences and network with peers.
• Participate in virtual professional development sessions.
