About The Position
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity at Montana State Hospital (MSH), which provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults with serious mental illness and serves people admitted from communities across Montana. Registered Nurse Leads assist and support clients in maintaining a therapeutic environment. They monitor and evaluate nursing services, provide immediate assistance, consultation, and problem-solving during crises and high-risk situations, coordinate and review investigations of unusual incidents, patient grievances, complaints, and allegations of abuse, and supervise assigned staff and patient services. Shift differential may be available, and one meal is provided per shift. Successful applicants are subject to relevant background checks and must pass reference checks before an offer is extended. The position is open until filled, with frequent applicant screening.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing (RN Associate Degree).
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Montana.
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions to solve problems.
- Knowledge of nursing, medications, rehabilitation, treatment planning, and techniques for psychiatric illnesses.
- Ability to use critical thinking and sound judgment in emergent hospital-setting situations.
- Skill in personnel management and supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of experience providing supervision in a health care setting.
