About The Position

This position is for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the LDRP team in Jacksonville, FL, working Full-Time nights in the Labor and Delivery unit at Baptist Medical Center South. The Labor and Delivery RN will provide patient care using the nursing process, organize and supervise supportive personnel, coordinate ancillary services, involve patients and families in care planning, and serve as a patient advocate. Responsibilities include nursing care in newborn nursery and postpartum units, as well as caring for antepartum patients, high-risk postpartum patients, and mother/baby couplets.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
  • Labor Experience
  • Newborn Nursery Experience
  • Mother/Baby Nursing Experience
  • Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
  • Registered Nurse Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (RNC EFM) Preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement
  • Organize and supervision care provided by supportive personnel
  • Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
  • Include patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing and individualized plan of care
  • Serve as the patient advocate and responsible for nursing care in newborn nursery and postpartum units including, but not limited to, caring for the antepartum patient, high risk postpartum patient and the mother/baby couplet
