About The Position

Provides care for obstetrical and infant patients through education and consultation. Functions as a resource for patients, families, staff, and the community. This position is bonus eligible.

Requirements

Associate's degree in Nursing.
Two (2) years L&D, Mom/Baby, lactation, or related nursing experience.
Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.
IBCLC required to obtain within 18 months.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assesses the physical, educational, and discharge needs of obstetrical, newborn, or breastfeeding patients.
Identifies opportunities to improve the care of mothers, infants, and children in both inpatient and outpatient settings based on patient assessments and trends.
Develops and revises evidence-based nursing policy, procedures, standards of care, protocols, and preprinted orders.
Provides evidence-based nursing care for mothers and infants through direct patient consultation or the telephone helpline.
Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to identify cost-effective alternatives and facilitate discharges.
Serves as a resource, educator, and consultant for patients, families, staff, and the community.
Evaluates and recommends new products, tools, etc., using best practice models, evidence-based materials, and research.
Performs other duties as assigned.
