About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Lubbock, Texas. This opportunity is ideal for experienced L&D nurses as well as first-time travelers looking to expand their clinical experience in a supportive acute care environment.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License or valid Compact License required.
- Recent Labor & Delivery experience in an acute care setting required.
- Strong maternal and fetal assessment skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and patient care skills.
- Experience with electronic medical record documentation preferred.
- First-time travelers are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Nice To Haves
- No floating outside the assigned Labor & Delivery/Women's Services unit.
- No on-call requirement.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to laboring patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Assist with labor management, inductions, deliveries, and immediate postpartum recovery.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatric teams, and neonatal specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation.
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care.
- Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in weekend rotation schedules as required.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the childbirth process.
