The registered professional clinical nurse is accountable for competent, evidence-based care, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Requirements

  • Requires an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
  • Requires graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Additional Advanced Life Support certifications may be required based on unit or specialty practice requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Participating in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Circulating in OB procedures within the Obstetrical OR.
  • Triage and assessment of OB patients.
  • Managing all phases of labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
  • Caring for high-risk obstetrical patients.
  • Collaborating closely with physicians, laborists, midwives, CRNAs, and APPs.
  • Developing advanced maternal-child nursing expertise.
