Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
About The Position
This is an RRT Assignment for a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery. The assignment length is 13 weeks, with a start date of ASAP. The shift is 3x12 Variable, most likely a straight Night Shift, but may flip to cover days and nights every 4 weeks. The unit includes OB Triage/Testing, LDR/Antepartum High Risk, 10 OB Triage Rooms, 10 LDR Rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms. The unit averages around 7 deliveries daily, but can accommodate up to 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. OB Triage averages 4-5 third-trimester testing patients and a daily influx of triage patients. The facility is a Magnet hospital, Level II Trauma, and recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska, with 407 total staffed beds. Parking is free, and scrub color will be provided. Charting is done via Epic.
Requirements
- 2 Years of Experience
- BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP certifications required.
- Must have license in hand for Auto Offer.
- Must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Must be available to work every other weekend.
- Must be willing to train as charge nurse if charge experience is preferred but not held.

Responsibilities
- Provide care in OB Triage/Testing, LDR/Antepartum High Risk unit.
- Manage patients in 10 OB Triage Rooms, 10 LDR Rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms.
- Handle an average of 7 deliveries daily, with capacity for up to 14 patients.
- Care for third-trimester testing patients and triage patients.
- Float within scope to like units if needed to meet facility needs.
- Potentially train as charge nurse.
