About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Full Time-Nights – Labor and Delivery at Texas Health Frisco. This role is focused on providing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, averaging 120 deliveries per month. The unit promotes family-centered care and supports the patient's vision of the Labor & Delivery process. Texas Health Frisco is a 93-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital specializing in women’s services, outpatient surgery, NICU, and emergency medicine. It has earned Magnet® status, Joint Commission certifications, and is a Baby Friendly designated facility.

Requirements

  • Associate degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma
  • 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (Required upon hire)

Nice To Haves

  • BSN
  • 2 years of labor and delivery experience as a registered nurse
  • NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days
  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
