About The Position

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge. The unit contains 8 labor beds, 2 triage rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 2 recovery rooms, with a 1:1-1:2 nurse to patient ratio. As a Registered Nurse, you will assess learning needs, readiness to learn, and identify barriers to learning, incorporating patient education into daily activities based on age, cultural, and spiritual values. You will document admission assessments/reassessments, plans, interventions, and medication use, monitoring effects and outcomes according to policy. The role involves utilizing the information management system to enhance communication and document changes in patient condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizing work assignments based on changing situations and communicating transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds are key. Recognizing and integrating patient special needs, individualizing care, and being knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral, including pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care, are also essential. Adhering to infection control standards specific to patient care and promoting and maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment are required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

BSN required from an accredited school of nursing.
PA RN License
AHA BLS

Nice To Haves

Prior L&D experience preferred.

Responsibilities
