About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D). The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience, with a specific focus on Labor & Delivery and Triage. Candidates must have prior travel contract experience and cannot be new travelers. Charting must be done in EPIC. The unit averages 350 deliveries per year and has a total of 22 beds, including 6 L&D beds, 7 GYN beds, and 7 Peds beds. Patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 1:3. Typical patients seen on the unit include pediatric patients, mother/baby care, medical-surgical patients, and inductions. The nurse will also be responsible for triaging their own patients. Pediatric patients range from newborns to adolescents, with common diagnoses including fractures, appendectomies, RSV, pneumonia, asthma, rule-out sepsis, and gastrointestinal issues. Hospital stays for pediatric patients are usually short.

Requirements

• NC or compact RN license
• AHA BLS certification
• NRP certification
• Stable certification
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Concentration in Labor & Delivery
• Triage experience
• Must have completed at least 1 travel contract
• NO NEW TRAVELERS
• EPIC charting experience
• Strong L&D skills
• Strong Mom/Baby skills
• Strong Triage skills
• GYN experience
• MedSurg experience
• Peds experience

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in Labor & Delivery.
• Manage Triage for L&D patients.
• Care for Mom/Baby patients.
• Provide care for GYN patients.
• Provide care for MedSurg patients.
• Provide care for Pediatric patients (newborn to adolescent) with diagnoses including fractures, appendectomies, RSV, pneumonia, asthma, fever, r/o sepsis, gastro.
• Chart patient information using EPIC.
• Triage own patients.
