Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level nursing care during complex vascular and non-vascular procedures, including biopsies, stent placements, and embolizations, ensuring strict adherence to sterile techniques and radiation safety protocols.
• Expertly monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and sedation levels (Moderate Sedation) throughout the periprocedural phase, rapidly identifying and intervening in cases of vasovagal responses or contrast reactions.
• Serve as a versatile member of the IR team by circulating to manage equipment and documentation, or scrubbing in to assist the Interventional Radiologist with guidewire, catheter, and sheath manipulation.
• Manage comprehensive patient throughput, including pre-procedure screening for lab contraindications (e.g., INR, Creatinine) and post-procedure access site management, ensuring hemostasis and providing detailed discharge education.
