About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/PCU). This is a travel assignment with a shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Local candidates residing less than 75 miles from the facility will be considered, and local rates will apply. The unit has 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro Beds, and serves an adult patient population (18+). Common diagnoses include neurological conditions, cardiac conditions, trauma, respiratory conditions, COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiovascular stepdown patients, and post-operative patients. Experience with temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines (A-lines), BiPAP, Neptune Vapo, and ventilators is required or preferred. Respiratory Therapy is available to assist.

Requirements

• Updated resume demonstrating 2+ years of IMCU/PCU experience.
• Resume must clearly document travel nursing experience.
• Travel experience required.
• Skills checklist matching the specialty.
• Driver’s license with address matching candidate demographics.
• Current AHA BLS.
• Current AHA ACLS.
• Current NIHSS.
• Nursys report/license verification required.
• Active New York RN license required.
• All RN licenses must be included in the Nursys verification.
• EPIC EMR experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Neptune Vapo.
• Experience with chronic ventilator patients who are unable to wean.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult patients (18+) in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/PCU).
• Care for patients with neurological conditions, cardiac conditions, trauma, respiratory conditions, COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiovascular stepdown, and post-operative conditions.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines (A-lines), BiPAP, Neptune Vapo, and ventilators.
• Care for chronic ventilator patients who are unable to wean.
• Float to other units as required.
