Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), which has 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro Beds. The unit cares for adult patients (ages 18 and older) with a variety of common diagnoses including neurological conditions, cardiac conditions, trauma, respiratory conditions (including COPD), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiovascular stepdown patients, and postoperative patients. The unit also cares for chronic ventilator patients who may be unable to wean from ventilator support, with assistance from Respiratory Therapy for ventilator management. Floating to other units may be required. Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience.
- Travel nursing experience.
- EPIC EMR experience.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Current AHA ACLS certification.
- Current NIHSS certification.
- Active New York RN license.
- NURSYS license verification report showing active New York RN license and all RN licenses.
- Driver's license with an address matching the candidate's demographics.
- Skills checklist matching the specialty.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for adult patients (ages 18 and older) in the Intermediate Care Unit.
