About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/PCU) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Utica, New York. The RN will provide intermediate and progressive care to adult patients with complex neurological, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and post-operative conditions.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License Required at Time of Submission.
• Minimum 2 Years of Recent Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and/or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Experience Required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certifications Required.
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification Required.
• Prior Travel Nursing Experience and Epic EMR Experience Required; Must Be Willing to Float as Needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage adult IMCU/PCU patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and post-operative conditions.
• Provide nursing care for patients requiring temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, high-flow respiratory support, and chronic ventilator management.
• Monitor patient condition, recognize clinical deterioration, and initiate appropriate interventions and escalation of care.
• Administer medications and treatments and collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic and float to other clinically appropriate units based on staffing and patient-care needs.
