About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a 13-week travel assignment. The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The RN is a critical member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) which cares for over 4000 cardiology patients annually; procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip and bi-ventricular pacemakers. Approximately 300 open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op) are discharged from this unit. The CVU also specializes in the care of patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies. Our NISUS research department manages many national clinical trials using CVU.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (floating is not considered)
  • EKG experience
  • Willingness to float to similar units
  • Current Active American Heart Association BLS credentials
  • ACLS
  • Meet Michigan State License Requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
  • Pass drug screen and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Neuro, CVICU, Trauma experience preferred
  • Experience managing Vents preferred
  • CRRT and Balloon Pumps experience preference

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the ICU setting
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Continuously monitor patient vital signs and adjust care plans as needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Document patient care services in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Stay current with nursing practices, procedures, and technologies
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
