About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This position is for a Registered Nurse in an Inpatient setting, working full-time, day shifts. The role involves managing, delegating, and coordinating quality nursing care, assisting in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and developing effective working relationships with the interdisciplinary team. The nurse will demonstrate accountability for professional practice through continuous education and maintaining clinical competency and licensure. Delivery of family-centered, child-focused patient care using the nursing process and critical thinking, evidence-based practice is essential. Opportunities exist to serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, or competency validator, and to participate in departmental and organizational committees. The role requires adherence to the Scottish Rite CARE RITE values.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Current Texas RN license or eligible for a temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Competent in Windows OS and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • EPIC experience required
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • PALS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • 2 or more years nursing experience preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage, delegate, and coordinate quality nursing care

  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with peers, departmental leadership, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate accountability for professional practice by participating in educational activities, maintaining clinical competency, maintaining licensure and certifications, and completing mandatory education in a timely manner
  • Deliver family centered, child-focused patient care according to the nursing process
  • Utilize critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practice to provide patient care
  • Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, or competency validator
  • Participate in departmental and/or hospital wide committees or task forces
  • Participate in and support departmental and organizational change and provides suggestions
  • Demonstrate the Scottish Rite CARE RITE values
