Join the nationally known American Family Children’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Inpatient Pediatric Float Pool. This 60% FTE position involves working 8/12 hour evening/night shifts, including a weekend and holiday rotation, with hours varying based on departmental needs. You will float across multiple departments within the hospital to cover sick leaves, unit acuity changes, and leaves of absence. The role involves caring for highly complex, critically ill pediatric patients in areas such as Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Intermediate/Complex Care Unit, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and Pediatric General Medical/Surgical. You will provide care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents and their families, managing complex medical diagnoses and disease processes. The position requires providing high-quality, evidence-based care, utilizing critical thinking skills for patient assessment, complication recognition, and intervention, while administering advanced life support therapies. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, nursing assistants, coordinated care roles, therapists, advanced practice providers, and medical teams, is essential. Opportunities exist to serve as a mentor, orient new nurses, work with nursing students, and participate in strategic planning, quality improvement, and Shared Governance.
