Registered Nurse - Inpatient Oncology
About The Position
St. Joseph’s Health is bringing together two exceptional teams—Oncology and Hospitalist/Complex Medical Care—into one dynamic, highly collaborative inpatient unit. This integrated model provides diverse clinical exposure, advanced skill development, and strong leadership support. We are seeking full-time and part-time RNs for day and night rotating shifts, with up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus available. About the Unit This unified inpatient unit blends oncology and acute medical care, offering opportunities to expand clinical expertise while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Clinical Focus Areas: Oncology & Chemotherapy: Care for patients undergoing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy and palliative care. Oncology-specific training and certification provided. Acute Medical/Hospitalist Care: Manage a broad range of acute and complex medical conditions with rapidly evolving patient needs.
Requirements
- Current RN license in New York State
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg or Critical Care experience preferred
- New grads encouraged to apply through Nurse Residency Program
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development
Responsibilities
- Deliver holistic, high-quality nursing care from admission through discharge
- Perform assessments, care planning, and clinical interventions including telemetry monitoring and chemotherapy administration
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams through daily rounding
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to NYS Nurse Practice Act and professional standards
- Support continuity of care across the patient journey
- Serve as a clinician, educator, mentor, and patient advocate
