The Resource Registered Nurse position for Zone 10 of Wake's Resource Team requires floating to the following facilities: Baptist, Wilkes, Hugh Chatham & Alleghany. This full-time position is benefits eligible and operates on a 36-hour schedule, typically nights. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. Upholding a culture of safety, continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes, and taking action as needed are key aspects of the role. The position may involve administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The nurse is expected to pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications, while adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics and practicing ethical decision-making. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and timely EHR documentation are also required. The role may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding the principles of growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of patient status to identify and meet age-specific needs.
