About The Position

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center’s Infusion Centers in Burlington and Peabody provide exceptional outpatient infusion services, including chemotherapy, blood product transfusions, and specialty medications. Nurses work with patients managing cancer, blood disorders, and chronic illnesses in a highly specialized, supportive environment. Under the direction of nursing leadership, the Registered Nurse delivers high quality, patient centered care consistent with the Lahey Clinic Professional Practice Model, the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, and ANA Standards of Practice. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, continuity of care, patient and family education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, while coordinating services across the continuum in a fast paced infusion setting.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a state‑approved and/or accredited school of nursing
  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
  • Strong clinical and technical nursing skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities

Nice To Haves

  • BSN strongly preferred
  • 4 plus years of nursing experience preferred
  • Hematology/Oncology experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, individualized nursing care based on patient needs and age‑specific considerations
  • Perform comprehensive patient and family assessments
  • Develop and evaluate culturally competent plans of care
  • Administer IV medications, blood products, injections, and specialty therapies
  • Educate patients and families on treatments and preventive care
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
  • Delegate and supervise care in accordance with MA Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards
  • Maintain clinical competency and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
