About The Position

We are seeking a qualified, goal-driven and self-motivated Dialysis Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. The Dialysis Practitioner delivers safe, high-quality, evidence-based, and person-centred dialysis care in accordance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards. Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, the practitioner promotes care coordination, shared decision-making, and patient self-management to improve patient safety, clinical outcomes, and the overall patient experience. The role supports clinical governance, quality improvement, and continuous learning by adhering to organisational policies, participating in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives, monitoring clinical and patient-reported outcomes, and applying evidence-based practice to enhance the quality, safety, and effectiveness of care across the patient journey.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing or BTech in Clinical Technology.
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Technologist (Independent Practice).
  • 1–2 years' dialysis experience in a haemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis unit.
  • Experience operating dialysis equipment and water treatment systems.
  • Experience in the management of patients with chronic kidney disease.
  • Experience in patient education and counselling.
  • Knowledge and application of quality improvement and risk management principles.
  • Working knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation and professional standards, including: National Health Act, Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Occupational Health and Safety legislation, SANC/HPCSA ethical rules and scope of practice.
