Requirements

Graduated from an accredited program for professional nursing education
RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state
Current CPR certification is required
Must maintain continuing education requirements

Nice To Haves

Oncology and/or medical/surgical experience are highly desirable
Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer is a plus

Responsibilities

Assisting patients with support and education
Phone triage of pre- and post-surgical patients
Providing care and follow up to ill and recovering GYN Oncology patients
Meeting with patients pre-operatively
Tracking patient’s hospital stay and discharge
Assessing patient condition via phone triage
Reviewing surgical pathology with physicians for appropriate postoperative appointment and genetic testing
Assisting with medication management, wound care and dressings changes
Coordinating continued home health needs
Keeping accurate records regarding postoperative treatment
