A Career Float RN III (CF III) is a proficient and experienced clinician who provides nursing efficiently and effectively using a high level of technical and organizational skills, as well as critical thinking ability. A CN III possesses in-depth knowledge in all aspects of nursing care for a specific unit patient population and consistently applies specialized knowledge and skills in managing nursing care for individual or groups of patients and their families. A CN III is regarded as a resource for staff on patient care issues. The scope of responsibility, duties, and accountability at the facility, department, and position levels are consistent with the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, The Joint Commission, and the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care and the Plan for Provision of Care to Patients, and other regulatory requirements. The Career Float RN is expected to float within their competencies where they are needed in the organization.
