About The Position

The Registered Nurse II role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individuals with serious mental illness, encompassing both acute and chronic phases. This position requires critical thinking skills to manage multiple priorities and the ability to formulate and implement broad-based nursing actions and individualized treatment interventions in complex care situations. The role also demands knowledge and skill in group leadership and dynamics, the ability to supervise and provide feedback to others, and effective delegation skills in accordance with regulations. Collaboration, problem-solving, and negotiation with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and other departments are essential. The nurse will utilize effective oral and written communication skills and possess knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric and physical conditions, biopsychosocial needs of patients, and the principles and practices of psychiatric nursing.

Requirements

  • Active RN license to practice in Virginia or Multistate license.
