About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families at the competent level, using the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse delivers safe and effective care and works with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

This position is with the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA), in the MedSurg 3rd Floor cost center. The PRN schedule is 24–48 hours per six-week schedule, depending on the selected tier, with 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or an AHA-recognized equivalent) or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required for most nursing areas within the hospital.
• Ability to meet the listed physical, sensory, and mental requirements, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, exerting force, working rotating shifts, and dealing effectively with stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
