About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. The Ashley River Tower (ART) 6 West is a 21-bed acute care unit providing care to patients with various diagnoses. 6 West (6W) commonly cares for patients admitted on general medicine services, plus specialty services, including GI surgery, surgical oncology, vascular surgery, and plastic surgery. Additionally, 6W cares for patients admitted on cardiology, CT surgery, hematology/oncology, and/or other services as appropriate based on patient needs. The nursing staff on ART 6W is trained to utilize various devices, tools, and techniques to assist in delivering safe patient care. Nurse: patient ratios range from 1:4-1:5. Our nurses enjoy an educational, collaborative work environment with all members of the care team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and other ancillary staff. Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
