Registered Nurse II (RN) - L&D
About The Position
The professional Labor and Delivery nurse uses the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate and document care for the pregnant patient for the laboring patient. The L&D nurse considers the patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, language barriers, age, teaching needs, and readiness to learn when providing care to the pregnant patient. The L&D nurse involves the interdisciplinary team in the plan of care and patient intervention. The RN I utilizes a mentor relationship. The RN I continue in a mentor relationship with a designated RN, and works toward independent practice and growth educationally in the Labor & Delivery Department.
Requirements
- California RN License
- BLS from American Heart Association
- ACLS from American Heart Association
- Basic Computer Skills
- Current Competencies
Nice To Haves
- NRP from American Heart Association within two (2) months of hire.
- Fetal Monitoring Basic AWHONN within one (1) month of hire/transfer
- Fetal Monitoring Intermediate AWHONN, within six (6) months of hire/transfer
