About The Position

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. This is a full-time, rotating position within the Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit.

Requirements

Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association certification.
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
1 Year of experience.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or others as required by individual department.
Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

Responsibilities

Implements and monitors patient care plans.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Performs initial, re-assessment, and focused assessments based on patient condition, setting, and population.
Identifies patient problems and formulates nursing care plans in collaboration with the patient and family.
Establishes daily goals with the patient and family.
Ensures patient safety.
Administers medications.
Provides ordered treatments.
Educates patients and families.
Provides nursing care.
Documents care in the healthcare record.
Continuously evaluates patient status and the effectiveness of nursing care, modifying the care plan as needed.
Delegates, supervises, and prioritizes care coordination actions.
