About The Position

This position is for an Outpatient Infusion RN at Sutter Health, specifically within the PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation CAD. The role involves providing nursing care in an outpatient infusion setting, with responsibilities spanning both Mountain View and Sunnyvale locations. Employees may handle hazardous drugs in accordance with USP 800 guidelines.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN-Registered Nurse of California license.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Two years recent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
  • Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • RN new to oncology or less than one year of oncology experience, completion of ONS Foundations of Oncology Nursing Practice courses within 90 days.
  • Obtain ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card within 90 days (unless alternate timeframe determined by department or entity).
