About The Position

Registered Nurse II – ICU Department at Texas Health Kaufman. This is a part-time position with 24 hours per week, primarily nights (Tuesday/Wednesday nights 7:00p-7:00a with 3-4 Sunday shifts in a 6-week period). The ICU Department has 8 beds and functions as a General Acute Intensive Care Unit with swing bed capabilities based on acuity. The unit handles various patient needs including DKA, hyperthermia, hypothermia, various drips, step-down patients, and neuro patients. The position offers a set work schedule for planning purposes, a robust Unit Based Council (UBC), engaged leadership, and a strong focus on NCAP/certification.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program.
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire.
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually (within 90 days).
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 days).
NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program (within 90 days).
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (within 90 days) OR ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (within 6 months).
TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (within 12 months).
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
