About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at our Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. This role is a .6 FTE (48 hours every 2 weeks) 12-hour night shifts, with every third weekend rotation. Variable schedule. Fairview Lakes Medical Center offers top quality primary and specialty care to community residents. The 4-star rating places Fairview Lakes in the top 30 percent of hospitals in the country. The ICU unit is recognized for high patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and strong teamwork. This is a 10-bed unit with onsite hospitalist physician support. There is 24/7 Intensivist/Tele-ICU support provided through the M Health Fairview system. Our location also has free parking for employees!

Requirements

  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • At least 1 year of critical care RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year experience

Responsibilities

  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s).
  • The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
  • The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
  • Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
  • Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
  • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
  • Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
  • Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
