About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit. This is a PRN position with night shifts, requiring 4 shifts every 6 weeks. Centerpoint – Winchester, formerly Clark Regional Medical Center, is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. The ICU recently underwent an expansion, increasing its capacity by 75% with six new beds. This role is vital to the mission of making communities healthier.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
• Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire
• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
