About The Position

Responsible for planning, organizing, and administering patient care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Tennessee. The Vanderbilt Clarksville Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 21-bed mixed medical/surgical adult ICU specialized in providing close monitoring and treatment for patients with a wide range of diagnoses. Our staff is committed to providing exceptional care to our patients in a challenging, team-oriented, patient and family-centered environment. We work collaboratively to provide opportunities for nurses to grow in critical thinking, professionalism, and participate in ongoing education. Our team consists of Intensivists, advanced practice nurses, critical care nurses, and respiratory therapists. Daily multidisciplinary rounds include the intensivist, advanced practice nurse, ICU nurse, case manager, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, infectious disease, and a nurse leader. The SWAT team consists of an intensivist, advanced practice nurse, and charge nurse available as bedside consult. The ICU charge nurse responds to codes and RRTs. Each shift begins with a safety huddle to review safety and quality concerns. Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIH
  • ECG interpretation

Nice To Haves

  • 12 weeks of orientation is offered based on nursing experience for nurses with at least one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
