About The Position

Maria Parham Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This unit delivers around-the-clock, comprehensive care for critically ill patients, with a patient-centered approach that extends compassionate support to families. Recent enhancements to advanced cardiac monitoring and treatment technology, coupled with a low nurse-to-patient ratio, enable the team to provide highly personalized and attentive care. The ICU nurses are specially trained in critical care, with expertise in cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, and complex surgical cases. Maria Parham is equipped to provide exceptional critical care when you and your family need it most. Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • One year of RN Hospital experience (required)
  • Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
