About The Position

City of Hope is hiring a full-time ICU Registered Nurse for the night shift, scheduled 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The nurse provides comprehensive patient care, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, patient and family education, documentation, medication management, and participation in quality improvement. The role requires collaboration and communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals, as well as supervision of care delivered by unlicensed support staff.

Requirements

Current Georgia State Registered Nurse license.
BSN required, or enrollment in a BSN program within six months of hire and completion of the BSN within three years of hire.
Current BLS certification; an AHA certificate must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certification; an AHA certificate must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

1–3 years of RN experience in a bedside care setting preferred.
Oncology experience preferred.
Recent ICU and/or step-down experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Continuously assess patient needs using a holistic approach and communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Adjust treatment according to the multidisciplinary plan of care.
Plan, deliver, direct, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic interventions based on patient assessments.
Document interventions and supervise care delivery by unlicensed support staff.
Educate patients and families about the disease process, treatment side effects, and health promotion; provide support and reassurance for informed decision-making.
Document patient and family education and support according to department standards.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agency requirements.
Participate in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures.
Engage in the unit Performance Improvement plan to enhance patient care quality.
Obtain and document patient medical history and medication information.
Verify and note physician orders.
Safely deliver prescribed medications and treatments and promptly evaluate outcomes.
