The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides direct and indirect nursing care to critically ill patients. This role involves rapid assessment, stabilization, and continuous care, managing patients with cardiac emergencies, stroke symptoms, respiratory distress, sepsis, and other critical medical and surgical conditions. The RN collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate timely patient care, ensures accurate electronic medical record documentation, and educates patients and families. They adhere to infection prevention and control practices, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and uphold the hospital's mission, vision, and values while providing compassionate, safe, high-quality care.
